Miami-Dade County Approves $3.9 Million GTA 6 Real-World Marketing Deal
Miami-Dade County has finalized a $3.9 million advertising agreement with Rockstar Games, bringing Grand Theft Auto 6 promotions to local transit hubs and landmarks.
Miami-Dade County has finalized terms with Rockstar Games on an extensive $3.9 million promotional and advertising campaign surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6. The municipal agreement will bring large-scale branding across several major transit hubs and public facilities throughout the real-world region that inspired the fictional state of Leonida.
According to county officials, revenue generated from the marketing package will directly fund civic infrastructure, specifically supporting the long-delayed public park project at Dan Paul Plaza behind the Kaseya Center. Addressing prior municipal concerns regarding video game content, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava highlighted the economic benefits of collaborating with the studio, stating that the global anticipation surrounding the title offers an opportunity to channel outside attention into public revenue.
Planned campaign rollouts include custom themed lighting installations at both Miami International Airport (MIA) and PortMiami. Travelers passing through the airport will see promotional visuals on walkways connecting terminal parking garages, alongside decorative wraps applied to designated traffic signal cabinets across the county. Rockstar Games will cover all associated costs for the fabrication, maintenance, and eventual removal of the physical displays, with all proposed imagery remaining subject to county standards and content guidelines.
Municipal advertising arrangements have also expanded into adjacent jurisdictions. Both the City of Miami and the City of Miami Beach have concluded separate promotional deals tied to the release, covering downtown banners and branded beach concession equipment. Conceptual installation plans and visual renderings of the airport and transit takeovers are hosted in the county's promotional design portfolio.
