A new version of GTA Online tied to Grand Theft Auto 6 could arrive in the first quarter of 2027, according to an investment analysis by Bank of America reported by Business Insider.

While Rockstar Games has centered marketing on the single-player campaign, industry analysts expect multiplayer functionality to follow in a dedicated rollout. The projection places the launch window for an evolved GTA Online between January and March 2027. Analysts highlighted that financial markets may be underestimating the revenue potential of the next multiplayer platform, noting the continued commercial performance of GTA 5's online component over the past decade.

A staggered release between single-player and multiplayer modes matches Rockstar’s established launch playbook. Both Grand Theft Auto 5 in 2013 and Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 released their standalone single-player campaigns first before activating their respective multiplayer services in subsequent weeks and months.

The investment memo also suggested that a PC edition of GTA 6 could potentially debut in the same early 2027 timeframe. Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed a release schedule for multiplayer features or a PC release, maintaining its focus on the primary console launch.
