GTA 6 World Design Features Real Buildings Located Beyond Florida
Community sleuths identified real-world architectural counterparts to GTA 6 rural buildings located in Gay, Georgia, hinting at wider Southern influences.

Architectural sleuths exploring recently released Grand Theft Auto 6 imagery have matched in-game rural structures to real-world counterparts located far outside Florida. Detailed comparisons shared on Reddit highlight two distinct storefronts matching physical locations in Gay, Georgia, a small town situated nearly 580 miles northwest of Miami.
The most exact match appears in an open-country screenshot featuring a local watering hole. In the game, the red brick exterior mirrors a standing Georgia building nearly identically, including the exact placement of windows, brickwork arches, and entrance spacing, varying primarily in trim paint and surrounding lot layouts. A neighboring commercial facade in the background, stylized in-game as "Trotsman's Supermarket," carries recognizable decorative cornices and recessed facade accents drawn from the same small township, even while shifting the main entrance doorway to the side.
The findings have ignited discussion regarding how far Rockstar's fictional state of Leonida extends geographically. While early marketing focused heavily on the Miami-inspired Vice City metro area and surrounding wetlands, players have long wondered whether northern borders could touch adjacent states. However, architectural borrowing across state lines remains standard practice for Rockstar's environmental artists. Rather than representing an explicit recreation of Georgia, the references demonstrate how the studio gathers authentic rural Americana and Southern architecture to populate the countryside outside Vice City.
Rockstar has not officially commented on the specific references. As fans continue analyzing new visual assets, these discoveries suggest Leonida's broader backcountry will incorporate a diverse blend of regional American structures.
