Raul Bautista Revealed as Veteran Heist Mentor in GTA 6
Rockstar details Raul Bautista, a veteran bank robber set to mentor protagonists Jason and Lucia through high-stakes heists in GTA 6.

Raul Bautista will play a central narrative role in Grand Theft Auto 6, serving as an experienced bank robber who takes dual protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos under his wing as they navigate the criminal underworld of Vice City.
Rockstar Games describes Bautista in character materials as a "reckless" career criminal perpetually on the hunt for new recruits to execute dangerous, high-reward heists. Designed to embody the street-smart criminal expertise that Jason and Lucia lack early in their criminal partnership, Bautista steps in to teach the pair how to orchestrate complex robberies, evade aggressive police pursuits, and escape crime scenes without leaving forensic traces.
While earlier footage and promotional art led some community members to speculate about a potential third playable protagonist—spurred by GTA 5's three-character structure—Rockstar has confirmed that Bautista is strictly a non-playable character. Jason and Lucia remain the game's only playable leads. Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson explained that the team briefly considered supporting up to four playable protagonists during development, but ultimately discarded the idea to focus on building a closer emotional bond between the central duo.
Bautista's visual design also pays homage to series history, with promotional assets showing him sporting a pastel palette reminiscent of Lance Vance's iconic wardrobe in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Rockstar has not officially confirmed the voice cast for the character, keeping voice talent under strict non-disclosure agreements ahead of Grand Theft Auto 6's scheduled console launch.
